Hi there! Welcome to BELLANGELA Italian Cuisine. I’m here to share with you another tip about your Italian food. Today, I will teach you how to preserve a big chunk of Parmigiano Reggiano, which is also known as the King of Cheese in Italy.

Parmigiano Reggiano is a hard Italian cheese made from cow’s milk. Its unique name is derived from the producing provinces, namely Parma, Reggio Emilia, part of Bologna west of Reno, and the part of Mantua south of the Po.

Now let’s learn how you can preserve a huge chunk of this fantastic food. You will need a little knife to cut pieces from it and give it to your kids. Parmigiano Reggiano is rich in amino acids, which is very helpful for the body. The remaining slice can be preserved using a cotton cloth. Cover the Italian cheese well with the cotton cloth and place it in the plastic bag. Put it in the cheese drawer or refrigerator so it can last for weeks and months. It will become a bit harder, but it’s still good.

We have a lot of memories with Parmigiano Reggiano. I am 100% Italian, and Parmigiano Reggiano is among my favorite Italian foods since time immemorial. My grandma would always give me a portion of this cheese all the time. It’s easy to digest and very helpful for kids who are fed with formula.
