Spring is just around the corner and many people around the world are preparing their menus for the upcoming special meal served on Easter Sunday, which is April 12th this year. Italians especially, love to gather with friends and family to celebrate this holiday and bring in the new season with traditional Italian food and beverages.

Check out this wonderful menu of delectable dishes from my hometown of Sezze, Italy. This meal is sure to delight your senses and help you to create an unforgettable dinner experience for your loved ones.

Bellangela Italian Cuisine’s Traditional Pasqua Sezzese (Easter) Menu

Primo: Fettuccine ai Carciofi (Homemade fettuccine pasta with artichokes)

Artichokes are a classic spring vegetable, and Sezze is very well known for its own carciofo festival as well as many different traditional recipes – like homemade fettuccine and Bellangela’s very own lasagna.

Secondo: Abbacchio alla Scottadito (Marinated grilled lambchops)

Nothing says spring like fresh lamb, and the term Scottadito references “burning fingers” – meaning these chops are served hot and are traditionally eaten with your hands.

Contorno: Patate al Forno (Italian oven-roasted potatoes)

These simply prepared potatoes are so flavorful you might never make scalloped potatoes again.

Dolce: Pagnottella del Salvatore (Savior loaf)

Round, lemony buns with just a touch of sweetness – the perfect grown-up answer to all that candy and chocolate the Easter Bunny brought for your children.

Buona Pasqua, gioiosa primavera e buon appetito! (Happy Easter, joyful spring and enjoy your meal!)
